Go The Distance
Distance significantly impacts cancer outcomes for rural patients. Compared to urban counterparts, they face later diagnoses, higher mortality rates and are 17 x more likely to experience geographical and financial barriers. Can Assist bridges this gap, supporting country cancer patients regardless of distance. Their goal is to ensure that every rural cancer patient can access necessary medical treatment.

The Supporting Young Lives Through Cancer project is focused on helping teenagers and young adults whose lives are disrupted by a cancer diagnosis - whether their own or that of a loved one. Each day, 63 young Australians are impacted, and most experience distress, fear, grief and isolation at a time when they should be focused on friendships, goals, and personal growth. To address this, the project delivers free, tailored counselling and age-appropriate programs designed to provide emotional support, build resilience and create a sense of community. Beyond clinical care, it creates spaces where young people can connect with others who understand their journey, reducing isolation and offering hope and strength. The project’s ultimate aim is to ensure that no young person has to face cancer alone, by giving them the tools, support and relationships they need to navigate one of the hardest times in their lives.

SAFE BEDS SAVE LIVES
Every night in Australia, women and children face an impossible choice: stay in a violent home or step into the unknown without a safe place to go. At Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), we believe no one should ever have to make that choice. Right now, WCS provides 65,000 safe beds every year for women and children escaping domestic and family violence. But the truth is, it isn’t enough. Far too many women still get turned away because there simply aren’t enough safe places available.
Safe Beds Save Lives is our most ambitious campaign yet. Our goal is simple and urgent: to raise enough funds to provide 200,000 safe bed nights every year within the next five years. That means more women and children with a roof over their heads, a door that locks, a space to rest, and the chance to start again with dignity and hope. A safe bed is so much more than shelter - it is the first step toward healing, rebuilding and breaking the cycle of violence.
